What we do

Engineering owned from design to support.

We take on the whole lifecycle of a piece of software: design, build, CI/CD, deployment and support in production. Nothing gets thrown over a wall to another team.

The same discipline applies whether we are integrating a language model, building a subscription platform or maintaining a desktop tool a business depends on every day.

AI & generative AI engineering

We build AI features that hold up in production. We integrate the Anthropic Claude API behind secured LLM gateways (model allow-listing, rate limits, cost caps), so language-model calls carry the same controls as any other production dependency. Our work covers prompt engineering, LLM-based structured data extraction from unstructured documents, and AI-assisted development workflows that raise delivery speed without lowering the engineering bar.

Prompts are treated as engineering artefacts: versioned in source control, evaluated against known cases and reviewed before changes ship. Extraction pipelines enforce schemas at the boundary, so nothing unvalidated reaches your database.

Web, mobile & desktop applications

Our core web stack is C# and .NET — .NET 6 and .NET Core, ASP.NET, Web API and Blazor — alongside React, TypeScript and Node.js where they fit the problem better. We build mobile applications with React Native and Expo, shipping to iOS and Android from a single codebase, and desktop software with WPF for teams who work in Windows all day.

Cloud, delivery & data

We run what we build. Systems deploy to Microsoft Azure through GitHub Actions pipelines that test, release and apply database migrations automatically, so every release is repeatable. Data is held in SQL Server or PostgreSQL, chosen to suit the workload rather than habit.

Identity, payments & security

The plumbing that has to be right. We implement authentication and authorisation with Auth0 and OAuth, and subscription billing with Stripe — including the webhook handling that keeps billing state honest through trials, upgrades and cancellations. We carry out OWASP-based security reviews, both of the systems we build and of existing codebases that need a second pair of eyes.

Most of our client work arrives through contract and consultancy engagements in four sectors. Each has its own constraints; all of them reward software that is precise about money, data and people.

Financial services

Money has to add up. We build financial-services systems with controlled releases, careful data handling and security review as part of the job.

Retail

Retail software has to hold up at scale and sit cleanly inside a wider estate — commerce, stock, fulfilment and the systems behind them. Our contract and consultancy work includes engagements with national UK retailers, named in our client list.

Healthcare

Software that touches health data carries a duty of care to the people behind it. We work to strict confidentiality and data protection, with respect for clinical and operational reality.

Engineering software

Technical domains bring exacting users and unforgiving data models. We build engineering software that treats correctness and performance as first-class requirements, because in these settings a plausible-looking wrong answer is worse than no answer at all.

Through Netrev, our own platform, we also work daily with restaurants and food-delivery operators across the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates — consolidating their sales and showing them what they actually earn.

Why Impress

A small company, deliberately.

Impress Software was founded by software engineer Yaseen Patel. Staying small is a choice: it keeps the people who win the work and the people who do the work the same people.

Founder-led

The person you deal with is the person doing the engineering. Decisions are quick, context never gets lost in handover, and accountability is not diluted through layers of account management.

End-to-end ownership

The team that builds a system is the team that runs it. Owning the full lifecycle changes how software gets built: when you know you will be the one operating a system, you make different choices at the start, and usually better ones.

Security-minded by default

OWASP-based review, least-privilege access, careful secrets handling and controlled releases are ordinary working practice here, not a premium tier. The same applies to our AI work, where gateways, allow-listing and cost caps are built in from the first commit.
